Ocean Hideaway

Nestled in a quiet seaside street of Hervey Bay, Ocean Hideaway is a newly renovated Queenslander bungalow from the 1930s. 

Only 300 metres from the beach and bursting with nautical treasures, it is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway! 

Embracing the bungalows heritage features, the classic VJ panelling walls have been given a fresh feel with crisp white paint, creating the perfect backdrop for rattan furniture pieces and light shades. 

It is often said that a good read makes for a great holiday, and a vintage magazine found in the Coastal Vintage Warehouse is a nod to the house's era. 

A set of our custom painted CoV oars hung with our double oar hooks adds a warm wooden touch and navy stripe to the room, complimenting the original polished timber floors.

Below the oars are plush couches - just right for relaxing after a day on the beach.

Among the mostly neutral soft furnishings in the living areas you will spot more navy and white stripes, a subtle reference to the nautical history of the bungalow's location. 

In the kid's room this nautical theme has been ramped up to create a fun and colourful space.

Imagine the dreams your little ones could have after a day on one of Hervey Bay's famous whale watching boats, falling asleep in this room with ship's wheels, sisal rope, anchors and even whales on their pillow! 

Our brass whale tail hooks have been used on the wall to create the perfect space to hang your hat during your stay.
