Batik Stamp #8446

This is a stamp, used in the production of batik fabric in Indonesia. 

Made from intricately folded pieces of copper, it was used to apply wax to the fabric, which was then dyed. The areas with wax do not absorb the dye, leaving behind the design. 

This design has village huts and palm trees. 

Measures approx: 24cm x 20cm x 10cm
