This wonderful old timber box is Chinese and was used to store and transport rice.
The corners and handle are made from metal which has rusted over time.
Chinese characters are stamped onto the sides and base.
Perfect as a display piece in a vintage industrial or country decor, it could also be used more practically for storage.
