Ship's Bull Ring #6300

This is a bull ring, and would have been fitted to the front of a vessel for mooring ropes the thread through. And by the size and weight of this one it was a big boat!

This one has had it's paint taken off, but interestingly they can be painted different colours depending on the voyages the ship has undertaken.  

Blue means the ship has crossed the artic circle, and rings are painted red for the Antarctic circle! 

A very unusual piece that we are not likely to see again, perfect for the maritime enthusiast. 

Measures approx: 41cm diameter x 14cm  15kg
