This fabulous of ship's ladder is quite the statement piece! 

With sturdy timber treads, and thick rope sides, it would have been lifted over the edge of the ship, possibly for s ship's pilot to embark. 

Originally a 14 metre ladder, this one has a section that broke off. 

Yellow plastic pieces have been used as part of the clamps securing each tread.

Found in an Indonesian shipyard, it is sturdy, and heavy!!

Measures approx: 11m long. Treads 52cm x 12cm x 2.5cm
