COLOUR:
One of the quickest ways to take your styling from average to amazing is to hone in on your colour palette.
When styling a piece of furniture such as this incredible china cabinet we like to keep our colour palette simple and cohesive.
Top tip: Keep large items down low, such as these wooden crates (below) which look fantastic and can also double up as storage.
STYLE:
A Coastal Vintage signature style, nautical is all about bringing the ease, calm and fun of a beachside holiday into your home’s decor.
Mounted timber oars are a great wall accessory for adding character and ramping up the nautical theme.
Throw in a painted life ring or a ship's wheel and you already halfway to the nautical interior of your dreams.
Top tip: This style works particularly well in kids bedrooms. And remember nautical does not always have to mean navy and red!
TEXTURE & LAYERING:
Simply put, layers equals styling confidence and there are endless ways you can add layers to your styling.
Throw texture in the form of rustic pots, old books, carved timber bowls or chunky woven baskets.
REPETITION:
For maximum visual impact we like to use a few of the same pieces repeated in our displays, such as these stunning antique paddles.
Repeating patterns or shapes works well to create a sense of continuity and cohesion.

A TOUCH OF LUXE:
If you want to create a luxe look then opt for natural shades of timber, white, black & metallics.

NATURE:
Don't forget to add an element of nature to your space.
Shells, petrified wood, coral and foliage will bring your styling to life and create a connection with the natural world!

This is a key element in styling and one that can often be overlooked.
